SolarCompare.my ("we", "us", "our") operates a solar panel installer comparison service at solarcompare.my. We connect homeowners in Malaysia with SEDA-registered solar panel installers.

SolarCompare.my ("kami") mengendalikan perkhidmatan perbandingan pemasang panel solar di solarcompare.my. Kami menghubungkan pemilik rumah di Malaysia dengan pemasang panel solar berdaftar SEDA.

2. What Data We Collect / Data Yang Kami Kumpul

When you submit a quote request through our form, we collect:

• Property information: property type, address, roof type, meter type, monthly electricity bill bracket
• Contact information: first name, last name, phone number
• Technical data: language preference, referral source

Apabila anda menghantar permintaan sebut harga melalui borang kami, kami mengumpul: maklumat hartanah (jenis hartanah, alamat, jenis bumbung, jenis meter, julat bil elektrik bulanan), maklumat hubungan (nama pertama, nama akhir, nombor telefon), dan data teknikal (pilihan bahasa, sumber rujukan).

3. How We Use Your Data / Bagaimana Kami Menggunakan Data Anda

We use your personal data to:

• Match you with up to 3 SEDA-registered solar panel installers in your area
• Share your property and contact details with those installers so they can prepare personalised quotes
• Improve our service and user experience

4. Legal Basis / Asas Undang-undang

We process your data based on your active opt-in consent, provided through the consent checkbox on our quote request form, in accordance with the Personal Data Protection Act 2010 (PDPA) of Malaysia.

5. Cross-Border Data Transfer / Pemindahan Data Rentas Sempadan

Your personal data is stored on servers operated by Supabase, Inc. located in Singapore (ap-southeast-1 region). This constitutes a cross-border transfer of personal data from Malaysia to Singapore.

We have assessed that Singapore provides an adequate level of data protection under its Personal Data Protection Act 2012 (PDPA). The transfer is conducted with appropriate safeguards including encryption in transit and at rest, access controls limiting data access to authorised personnel only, and data processing agreements with our service provider.

6. Data Retention / Penyimpanan Data

We retain your personal data for a maximum of 24 months from the date of collection. After this period, your data will be permanently deleted unless you have an ongoing relationship with one of our installer partners.

7. Your Rights / Hak Anda

Under the PDPA, you have the right to:

• Access your personal data held by us
• Correct any inaccurate data
• Withdraw consent at any time (Section 38, PDPA)
• Request deletion of your data

8. Cookies and Analytics

We use Google Analytics 4 (GA4) to understand how visitors use our website. GA4 collects anonymised usage data including pages visited, time spent, and referral source. No personally identifiable information is sent to Google Analytics.

We use browser sessionStorage and localStorage to improve your experience (e.g., saving form progress). This data is stored locally on your device and is not transmitted to our servers.
